Went today. First one I'd been to. It was at the Thames Valley Athletics Centre, which is a pretty amazing facility. The training was OK, the guy was a complete circuits/core stability/ drills buff... reminded me of Gary... The endurance group was too small though, which made it less valuable. The adidas camps are much, much better,
What was going on around us in the centre was quite interesting though. Willie Banks (ex triple jump world record holder) was there coaching some people at long jump, and Julian Golding was in the centre too apparently, and our afternoon session was assisted by the world masters 400mH champion and ex world taekwondo champion, which was slightly random, but still!
I'd probably go again, but try and drag someone along with me; I was amazed that I didn't really know anyone there at all! Can't do then next one because of races, so....!

wow u make me envy you - eh you rubbing shoulders with the stars lol. You have a really busy life style. I wish i had something i did regulary and was fun. I used to go to a swimming club which was really intese and competetive. I used to have to go in loads of galas and swim and try to get PB's everytime. In the end i could only make training once a week and it was too far to go to the 2nd training session. And i could have got into the UK squad if i had trained hard enough - but it wasnt to be lol. ;D

Lol.
My Mum used to swim... she was on the national development squad or whatever the hell it was called 40 years ago, and she's always been a bit disappointed in my pathetic attempts at swimming (I am really not a natural swimmer. I have no natural buoyancy and just sink to the bottom like a rock!).
I wish I'd been able to get his autograph, but it would have looked a bit strange, lmao! I've seen loads of athletes, but I only have Kelly Holmes's autograph (although at the moment it's probably the best ot have, lmao!). I really want to go to watch Crystal Palace next year; I'll have to do some arm twisting I think, lol!
I haven't been training seriously for lal that long. I started training about 4 and 1/2 years aog, once a week, very slowly. I starting going twice a week about 3 years ago, and I now do 3-5 times a week, depending on races and mileage. I train 2-3 times with my club each week, then if there's no racing i cna go up to train with an elite group at another club on Saturdays, and then I try and train once by myself each week as well. I'm supposed to do 17.5km a week (minimum of 12k), but I actually did 31.8km last week, which was pretty incredible, lol! Saying that, I only did 5km the week before and abotu 3 the week before that because I was taking it easy on my pereneus strain, so....!
Compared to most of the people I race I'm pretty new to the sport though. Most of them have been training since they were 11, if not 7 or 8, so i had a lot of catching up to do!

I have Abi Oyeptian's too, from the Adidas Summer Camp. I wish I'd got more autographs from B'ham, but the stroppy stewards wouldn't let us down to the track!
